Carbium Runs Sovereign Solana Infrastructure in Switzerland, From the Fibre to the Node

Carbium RPC answers Solana requests from hardware Carbium owns and operates in Switzerland, not from rented cloud servers.

SWITZERLAND, November 10, 2026. Carbium, a Swiss-operated Solana infrastructure company, today set out what sovereign infrastructure means for teams that build on Solana, and published the layers behind it on its infrastructure page. Carbium RPC runs on bare-metal servers Carbium owns, in a private data center in Switzerland that Carbium owns, behind its own routers and firewalls and connected over dark fibre that Carbium operates. One team runs the path from the edge of Carbium’s network to the Solana node.

Solana access is commonly built on infrastructure the seller does not control: cloud instances, rented servers or colocation space, where another company sets the terms, the capacity and who is allowed on the hardware. Solana has already seen what that dependency can cost. In November 2022, a single hosting provider’s decision to stop serving crypto workloads took more than 1,000 Solana validators offline within hours, and their operators had to move them elsewhere. A company that sells network access on someone else’s hardware carries that exposure, and so do its customers.

For Carbium, sovereignty has three parts. The first is ownership: the facility, the power redundancy, the routers, the firewalls, the servers and the management systems around them belong to Carbium, and physical access is limited to the Carbium team. The second is operation: the same team runs every one of those layers, along with the dark fibre into the facility, which Carbium lights with its own equipment, so routing policy, capacity and maintenance are Carbium’s decisions. The third is location: the hardware that answers each Carbium RPC request sits in Switzerland, not in a cloud region chosen by a third party.

What sovereignty buys a customer is accountability. When something needs fixing, anywhere from the edge of Carbium’s network to the node, the people fixing it work for Carbium, and there is no hosting provider’s queue to wait in. Each plan’s limits are published, and service status is public on Carbium’s status page. Ownership is not a promise of perfect uptime, and Carbium does not sell it as one; it is a promise about who answers for every layer. The infrastructure page lists which layers Carbium owns and which it operates, and answers the questions buyers ask most about what that means in practice.

Carbium RPC serves JSON-RPC, WebSocket and gRPC streaming from the same stack, covering account and program reads, subscriptions and transaction submission. Every Carbium RPC plan runs on the same infrastructure, and gRPC streaming is included from the Business plan. The same team builds Carbium Swap API, a REST API for Solana swap quotes and routing whose routing has carried client swaps in production since December 2025, and Carbium Swap, its non-custodial swap app.

Carbium RPC is available to any team building wallets, exchanges, indexers and onchain products on Solana. Carbium also works with exchanges, wallets and infrastructure providers that want their Solana access to run on infrastructure with one identifiable owner. Teams can compare plans, with credits and requests per second listed for each.

About Carbium

Carbium is a Solana infrastructure company engineered and operated in Switzerland. It builds Carbium RPC, Solana network access over JSON-RPC, WebSocket and gRPC streaming; Carbium Swap API, a REST API that returns real-time swap quotes and builds executable swap transactions across multiple DEXs behind a single API key; Carbium Swap, its non-custodial swap app; and Carbium Token Data, a free API for Solana token search and metadata. Carbium RPC runs on infrastructure Carbium owns and operates in Switzerland. Carbium serves wallets, exchanges, indexers and onchain products. More information is available at carbium.io.
