Content Guidelines

1. General Requirements

  • Newsworthiness: All press releases must contain timely, relevant, and newsworthy content. They should focus on updates, innovations, or announcements related to blockchain, cryptocurrencies, Web 3, and Fintech sectors. If the news does not originate from these sectors, the press release must clearly demonstrate its relevance to the niche.
  • Format: Press releases should follow the standard press release format. Refer to our writing guide [link to come] for specific formatting details.

2. Headline

  • Clarity and Impact: The headline must clearly indicate the key news or announcement and include the source of the news, typically the issuing company or entity.
  • SEO Optimization: Incorporate relevant keywords related to the Crypto, Web 3, and Fintech industries to enhance visibility.

3. Content Structure

  • Lead and Body: Begin with a strong lead summarizing the core news. Follow with detailed information in a structured format—use paragraphs to explain the “who, what, where, when, why, and how” of the announcement.
  • Bullet Points: For complex details, use bullet points to improve readability.
  • Tone: Maintain an objective and professional tone. Avoid hype, speculative statements, and first-person language (e.g., “we,” “I,” “you”) unless quoting a spokesperson.

4. Accuracy and Factual Content

  • Fact-Checking: Ensure all information is accurate and based on verifiable facts. Avoid speculative or opinion-based statements.‍
  • Citations: Provide clear attribution for all factual claims and include citations from credible sources if relevant.

5. Image and Multimedia

Please note that each individual publisher may have different guidelines around images and links

  • Image Inclusion: You may include one image in the press release. Ensure it is properly formatted and in acceptable file types (.jpeg, .gif, .png).
  • Links: All hyperlinks must be functional and direct to the correct web pages. Include up to 5 links if relevant.

6. Contact Information

  • Details Required: Provide up-to-date contact information (not for publish) for the issuing company or its representatives, including a valid email, address and phone number. 

7. Permissions and Authorship

  • Company Mentions: Obtain permission from authorized representatives of any third-party companies mentioned before submitting the press release.
  • Original Content: Ensure all content is original and unique. Avoid using templated or copyrighted material.
  • Written Authorization: For specific cases like network marketing, stock ticker symbols, or major corporate announcements, written authorization from an executive may be required.

8. Length and Formatting

  • Word Count: Press releases should be between 250 and 800 words. Length affects distribution and indexing.‍
  • Formatting: Avoid HTML tags, non-standard characters, tables, and all capital letters. Ensure no broken or inactive links.

9. Compliance and Quality

  • Legal Accuracy: Ensure all legal references are accurate and include necessary documentation (e.g., case numbers).
  • Grammar and Spelling: Adhere to proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation rules. Define industry jargon where necessary for clarity.

10. Editorial Review

  • Review Process: All press releases will be reviewed by the editorial team to ensure adherence to guidelines and to provide value to media and readers. Attention to these guidelines will facilitate a smoother approval process.

11. Prohibited Content

  • Inappropriate Content: Do not include inflammatory language, hyperbole, or unattributed opinions. Avoid content intended to harm, incite fear, or violate privacy. Ensure compliance with standards to avoid delays or rejections.

Prohibited Content

This set of prohibited content guidelines is designed to ensure that all press releases distributed through the service adhere to high standards of quality and relevance. To maintain the integrity and quality of our press release distribution service, the following types of content are strictly prohibited:

1. Advertisements

  • Promotional Material: Press releases that are primarily focused on selling products or services without presenting any substantial newsworthy element will be considered advertisements and will not be accepted. Press releases should provide meaningful information relevant to the Crypto, Web 3, and Fintech industries.

2. False or Misleading Information

  • Inaccurate Content: Any content that is verifiably untrue, misleading, or deceptive is not allowed. Ensure all information is factual, accurate, and based on reliable sources.

3. Sexually Explicit Content

  • Academic Content: Press releases promoting or linking to academic writing services (e.g., essay writing, dissertation help) are prohibited.

4. Link Spam

  • Explicit Material: Content that involves or references sexually explicit material or products is not allowed. This includes all types of adult content and websites targeted exclusively at an over-18 audience.

5. Reprints and Duplicate Content

  • Excessive Linking: Limit hyperlinks to no more than one per 100 words to prevent link spamming and maintain the quality of links within the release.

6. Third-Party Legal Releases

  • Copied Material: Press releases that reprint news articles, feature images, or other copyrighted content from other publications will be rejected. Duplicate content, including previously distributed releases, is not permitted.

7. Third-Party Legal Releases

  • Legal Representation: Press releases regarding legal cases must come directly from the law firm representing one of the parties involved. Third-party firms cannot submit legal-related press releases.

8. Potentially Malicious Content

  • Harmful Intent: Content that may incite, advocate, or express hatred, bigotry, racism, or violence, or that aims to harm, defame, or defraud individuals or groups, will be refused. This also includes malicious attacks on a company’s stock or reputation.

9. Content Adverse to Service Ethos

  • Contrary Content: Content that contradicts our commitment to promoting an open, inclusive, and ethical society will not be accepted. This includes any form of hate speech or discriminatory content.

10. Unauthorized Ticker Symbols

  • Stock Symbols: Press releases containing stock ticker symbols must have proper authorization from the company in question. Unauthorized use of ticker symbols will be rejected.

11. Online Gambling

  • Gambling Promotion: Releases promoting online gambling, fantasy sports, or “pay-to-play” models are prohibited.

12. Payday or Short-Term Loans

  • Loan Services: Press releases promoting payday loans, short-term loans, or similar unsecured loan services will not be published.

13. Gun Topics

  • Firearms Promotion: Press releases related to the sale or promotion of firearms, including handguns, rifles, and related accessories, are prohibited.

14. Online Pharmaceuticals

  • Prescription Drugs: Releases from online pharmacies selling prescription drugs are not accepted unless the website explicitly states that a doctor’s prescription is required. Acceptable pharmacies must be located in the US or UK.

15. Tobacco Products

  • Tobacco Promotion: Content promoting tobacco products, including vaping and e-cigarettes, is not allowed.

16. Weight Loss Products

  • Weight Loss Claims: Press releases promoting weight loss products or ingredients will be refused.

17. Health Supplements

  • Supplement Claims: Releases related to health supplements, regardless of legality claims, will not be published.

18. Sexual Enhancement Products

  • Enhancement Products: Content promoting sexual enhancement products is prohibited.

19. Easy Money Schemes

  • Scams and Schemes: Press releases that promote get-rich-quick schemes, work-from-home programs, or make-money-online schemes will be rejected.

20. Stock Recommendations

  • Investment Advice: Releases that provide stock recommendations, trading bots, newsletters, or investment advice are not accepted. Publicly traded companies may promote their own news.

21. Forex Trading Platforms

  • Forex Promotion: Press releases promoting Forex trading platforms, demo accounts, leveraged or funded Forex accounts, or AI-based Forex trading tools will not be published. General news about the Forex industry may be considered.

22. BlackHat SEO Tactics

  • Unethical SEO: Releases promoting or linked to BlackHat SEO tactics such as keyword stuffing, link buying, or other unethical practices will be refused.

23. Viruses, Scripts, and Malicious Code

  • Malware: Content containing or linking to viruses, scripts, or any code that could damage or disrupt computer systems will not be accepted.

24. Miracle Products

  • Unsubstantiated Claims: Releases making miraculous claims about products or treatments, particularly those lacking scientific backing, will be rejected. This includes alternative health products and unregulated FDA claims.

25. Political Releases

  • Political Content: Politically-oriented press releases will only be considered if the language is civil and moderate. Opinion pieces must be clearly identified as such.

26. Unverifiable Information

  • Verification: Press releases containing information that cannot be independently verified will be refused.

27. Unverified Celebrity Endorsements

  • Celebrity Endorsements: Releases including celebrity endorsements must provide verification that the celebrity is aware of and approves the content.

28. Streaming Video Content

  • Unauthorized Streaming: Press releases promoting the streaming of premium or TV content without proper authorization will be refused.
